Walk a mile in her shoes!

People all over the country are gearing up for the Chicago Breast Cancer 3-Day Walk benefitting Susan G. Komen for the cure on August 7- 9,  2009. Every advancement in breast cancer research, treatment, education and prevention in the last 25 years has been touched by a Komen for the Cure grant. People walk to promote awareness and raise money to support research. They walk for a mother, a sister and/or a friend. Many also walk on this journey through discovery, diagnosis, treatment and beyond.

Vein and Laser Center of Elgin Cardiac Surgery is sprinting in front of the pack to honor and support these women! From July 1 to October 31, 2009 The Vein and Laser Center of Elgin Cardiac Surgery will make a donation to the Breast Cancer 3-Day Walk with every new appointment scheduled. The “ Walk a Mile in Her Shoes" campaign is designed to help raise awareness for women and their struggles through breast cancer and the dedication of the 3-Day walkers.

Dr. W. Craig Thatcher, is the Cardio Thoracic Surgeon that performs the minimally invasive procedures, at The Vein and Laser Center of Elgin Cardiac Surgery. He commented, “We recognize for people with venous disorders walking can be a slow and painful process. We want to get our patients back to walking, back to enjoying their lives, free from pain, and free to love their legs again. Without good vein health these 3-Day walkers could not do 60 miles of walking. We wanted to do our part to support these walkers and the Breast Cancer 3-Day Walk”
